Literary Liaisons

A blog about writing and all things story…

Creative Energy Flowing

Sometimes I turn to music to get my creative juices flowing and rattle my muse. Tonight I’m listening to a new music find and an old fave. Check them out.
I just had to share this bluesy, sexy singer, Melody Gardot. This is my kind of music. Just sit back, close your eyes, imagine you’re sitting in a dark blues café, and enjoy.

I suddenly miss the old smoky piano bars of Portland.
And my all time favorite guy, Chris Rea who puts me in the mood to put the top down (on my car) and cruise Highway 101 all the way to Cali.  Check him out – Just Wanna Be With You – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0F0nhYR4EOw&feature=related

What kind of music gets your whole body involved in a story; Foot tappin’ memory rattling, make me cry make me laugh make me remember, make me write kinda music? When I listen to good tunes (anything from ZZ Top to the London Philharmonic) I’m inspired because I’m ‘in spirit’ with the tunes, the lyrics, the story, and it moves me to be creative. How about you?
