Check Out What Other Writers & Artist Are Doing

This is a message from Heather Pitre – my Film School liaison;

“I just got the great news that my poem “Infertility Goddess” was accepted into the Wrestling with Angels Gallery Show. Please join me at the opening artists reception on Sunday, November 6, 2011, 5-8p.m. at Capital Hill Presbyterian Church . Congrats Heather!

Heather’s gallery show will also be featured in the Capital Hill Arts Walk on November 10 and December 8. Check it out. I plan on attending to see what some of the more avant-garde artist and writers are doing across town. Looks like a fun night of energy and creativity.

Also here in Seattle, don’t forget the Film School First Tuesday events at the Roy Street Coffee House. They are Free, but donations are always welcome. Check out their list of upcoming events. Some pretty cool happenings there.

It’s important as an artist – writer, painter, poet – to get out there and see what others are doing, network, mingle, learn, explore, expand your horizons and then return to your cave energized and ready to create. Then submit, like Heather did. Who knows what will happen.

Fall is a wonderful time to pull your focus inside; inside art museums, galleries, poetry readings, book store events and wherever brave artists unite their works and share them with the world. So get out there. Expand your horizons. What art related activities are going on in your city?  (Sorry, I can’t get rid of the funky white background. ARG!)

    The funky white background draws attention to your important words by making it look like a telegram. Not that I've ever received a telegram.
