A blog about writing and all things story…
People frequently ask me to write a memoir, partly because my mom is a ‘character’ with a fascinating past.
She had a television program, was a singer, actress and beauty queen. You can see me mentioned (age 2) in this newspaper article.
As writers our influences come from all around us. Today I’m reminded how much my story telling is influenced by my mother and her antics (good and bad). People are right, she is a character, and yes, someday I’ll write that memoir. For now it’s enough to be reminded about the source and inspiration for many of my stories.
For me, one main life skill mom has taught me is RESILIENCE. How has your mother influenced your writing? Share it with me in one or two words on twitter @MindyHalleck. Let’s keep the ball rolling.
